The Thai sex industry is a universe in itself, The CBC "Bangkok Girl" video reveals the inner mecanism of that industry, which is fuelled by the poverished north eastern province of Isarn (right above Pattaya), providing thai brothels, go-go and girly bars with an endless stream of young uneducated women, who can make more money there a night than a trained secretary a month.
The video is absolutely realisticly shot, with a sort of amateur touch, and when you can see between the images, you can feel how the filmmaker is drawn into the story of the protagonist woman, Pla (thai nickname meaning "fish"),
as she tells her story. That reveals how the thai sextrade really! works. She plays on the camera man's protective instinct with all her charms, which is impossible to resist (as long as you are human).
The bitter tragic is that Pla died after the film was finished under circumstances nobody knows.
