Trang
I took the train from Hua Hin at 21.07 south bound. An overnight sleeper ticket to Trang goes for 546 bees. Take care that the restaurant in the train closes at 10.00, so I just had time for one beer. All in all it was a very pleasant trip. On arrival at Trang around 9.00 I was fresh and ready for the day. I decided to stay overnight and to check out the most promissing Island I can reach from Trang. I decided to head for Ko Bulon Leh. It's tiny island in the Andaman Sea, Satun province. I don'twant to get squeesed into a minibus together with all theese backpackers. So I looked for the Thai style:
At the tourist information I couldn't fiqure out at what time the ferry boat would leave Pak Bara, the Depature Harbour for Bulon, but my little Thai was enough to figure out, that when I take the local bus at 8.a.m from the busterminal for Satun province , and when I get off at La Ngu, and than take a taxi to Pak Bara I will be probably very much not to late to reach the ferryboat, either to Koh Taraturo or Koh Lipe or Koh Bulon Leh.
Than I've checked into the Ko Teng Hotel, an old shack some hundred meters down the station.
Ko Teng has a nice lobby, with fans and many Thais hanging out slurping koo-pii, the delicous southern style coffee. Large Singa goes for just 60 bees.
The room is old, large, with fan and shower, but not very clean and goes for 300 bees.
Enough work for today . Back to the Chang.

As I walked out I found a decent Restaurant quite opposite of Ko Teng. They have a nice garden in the back and serve decent Thai,Indian, Chinese food... beers go around 70 bees for a large, food around 90 for a serving. Friendly, devote, sweet. Please behave like a human not like a western monster.
Internet cafees are closed after dark so I walked further back to the train staion. Right in front of it I found the WUNDERBAR. Fiendly german owner who takes care to offer the real thai style. Nothing to complain . Nueng baehn goes for roi baht. He closes at 11.30 pm and opens again on 10 am.
On the way back to Ko Teng Hotel I found a perfect Chinese/Thai restaurant, and the best of it, it was OPEN. Large Changs go for 70 bees. Smile and you get smiles back.
Even later there were some good looking food stalls up the road to Ko Teng Hotel.
But I was to much mao by now , so I passed by, ignoring the invitations of the local druncards.
It's good to be in bed bevore midnight. A new day, a new challenge, a new adventure.
