changnoi's Sonkran
Allright after 18 years of frequently comming to Thailand, his was my first Sonkran, and the time at Wat Khao Krailat was really inspiring and mind settling. But Sonkran means also to do something real important (which might have little to do with it's origin): being crazy, powerful drinking, and serious splashing. And it was a splishing and a splashing on the beach while Tommy took some pictures to make me look completely nuts, but since I joined the carnival in Salvador de Bahia in Brazil, I know how importend it is for a society, specially for the Thai society, which hardly can move on of it's pride and all it's complicated rules to show repect to each other, TO LET SOME STEAM OUT OF THE BOTTLE.
So my missus and I went directly to Soi Bintaban, the underbelly soi of Hua Hin, where we joined the crowd for some real watert hroughing.
I found a small waterpistol and started to attack 3 Brits sitting at the bar in Nice & Easy. Itw as an hopelessly German attack on the islanders , 'coz these guys were just having a provocative look at each other, reaching down their stooles to get three high power precision super soakers ready, and wile looking pityfull to me, they fired off a tripple load of ice water, that I thought for a moment my heart will stop beating, and I almost spilled my beer ( holy beer) what I was holding in the left hand.
My outcry:"These are weaponsofmassdesblubshen", let them unmoved, and stoically they fired second round. PURE FUN! for kids of all ages.
This festival will become or is already the Thai carnival, and it only can get better.
To learn from Brazil, not only means to learn to print money, pr playing soccer but it means to learn to party!!
Sonkran is over.
But I still have some questions: Why do I always feel so happy among bar girls, if not to say prostitutes?
Isn't abdication the biggest luxury on earth?
And why can't all this crazy abstainers from bin Laden to Bush stop to try to save the world.
