warren report No1.

sep 4. 2001

- I am not impressed with Pattaya, which is full of Kat-oeys these days, and go there only if I have to, Hua Hin and Cha Am are going ahead, and becomming much more Touristy, especially Hua Hin.
I really think there is a lot more to see at night in bangkok than most tourists know .. e.g. i never take my friends near Patpong/Sukhumvit, Ratchada is really going ahead, there are 5 or 6 top entertainment spots there which are worth a story.
Also, travelling upcountry to " ban nok" can be interesting, Nightclubs in Places like Korart, Khon Kaen orÊeven Surin really rock, and of course in such places the "farang" is still a novelty, and its not hard to attract some attention !
The current crackdown, which even nowdays has the mighty "Thermae" closing at 1am, is not doing the entertainment industry any good, but is causing such debate, that the PM, Taksin, is due to step in and return things to something like normal soon, - he realises how much foreign currency is being lost due to early closing - likewise a string of bars near Thermae, Sukhumvit sois 13-15, called "Clinton Plaza" have all been closed, and the # 1 Thai spot, RCA, which had 77 bars/discos operating a month ago, now has 3 !! regards for now ... Warren.
